Northeast Extension SB Reopens At Lansdale Interchange Following Crash

LANSDALE, Pa., (CBS) -- An accident shut down the Pennsylvania Turnpike's Northeast Extension southbound at Lansdale for more than four hours Tuesday.

Chopper 3 over the scene around 4:30 p.m. in Lansdale where a tractor trailer flipped in the southbound lanes.

Firefighters rescued the trapped driver and medics had to amputate one of his legs.

Stranded drivers walked near their cars as they waited for the wreckage to be removed.
