Pa. State Troopers Release Statistics On Labor Day Weekend Vehicle Accidents
HARRISBURG, Pa. (CBS) – Pa. State Police say they investigated 686 crashes during the Labor Day weekend this year.
Thirteen people were reportedly killed and 211 others were injured in those crashes.
Troopers also say they cited more than 800 people for not wearing seatbelts and issued citation to more than 200 for not securing children in safety seats.
Of the 686 crashes investigated, 70 involved alcohol, including two fatal accidents.
Officers cited 545 people for driving under the influence.
Those numbers are up slightly from last year, when 11 people died and 262 were injured in 661 crashes in the state.
