Man Driving With Suspended License To Be Charged Following Crash On Route 1 In Upper Providence, Officials Say

UPPER PROVIDENCE, Pa. (CBS) -- Charges will be filed after an ugly wreck on the Route 1-Media Bypass in Upper Providence closed a portion of the road on Wednesday. Investigators say a Lincoln Navigator hit guardrails on both sides of the highway, went airborne and then landed on top of a Subaru.

The Subaru driver was trapped in his car and rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.

The man driving the Navigator got out on his own and was also hospitalized. Investigators say he was driving on a suspended license.

Police in Upper Providence are now asking witnesses to come forward.
