DOVER, Del. (CBS) -- A winter storm that was expected to drop snow on Delaware overnight turned out to be mostly rain, leaving wet or slushy roads in most areas as the morning commute got underway on Tuesday.

However, DelDOT's crews are actively working to monitor roads and continuing to treat surfaces that could become icy with snow is still forecast for later in the day and evening. Accumulations of up to four inches are possible.

As of Tuesday morning, the storm had left its biggest impact on central Delaware where snow was reportedly falling in some locations.
