Man found dead in Burlington Township, New Jersey, home after fire, police say

A man has died after a fire destroyed a home in Burlington Township, New Jersey.

Officials tell CBS News Philadelphia the fire broke out just before 1 a.m. on the 900 block of Beverly Road. When crews arrived on scene, the home was fully engulfed in flames and multiple people were trapped inside.

All of the occupants were able to escape except one man, identified as 64-year-old Kenneth Jones of Burlington Township. Jones was pronounced dead on scene. 

Crews worked for about an hour until the blaze was placed under control just after 2 a.m. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Burlington Township Police Department, in cooperation with the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office. At this time, the fire does not appear to be suspicious, officials say.

No other injuries to civilians or firefighters were reported.
