Orlando On The Mind At Philly Pride Parade

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The shooting in Orlando was on the minds of many at the LGBT Pride Parade in Philadelphia.

There was a jam-packed crowd at 13th and Locust, the starting point of the parade. With what happened in Orlando, the overwhelming attitude from those we spoke with was sadness at what happened, but a feeling that their pride lives on.

Matt used to live in Orlando and has actually been to Pulse nightclub.

"It's imperative we continue to do events like this. I was even more empowered to come out today and march in this parade today and make sure my voice gets heard," he said.

As for security here, Police Chief Inspector Joe Sullivan, who also heads Homeland Security in the department, says they had to make some changes.

"The posture we take is all special events are well protected. We made the necessary adjustments today. I think we're gonna make everyone feel secure today without creating a negative environment," said Sullivan.
