PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Organizers of the annual Puerto Rican Day parade and festival in Philadelphia are finalizing plans for the cultural celebration later this month.
Joanna Otero-Cruz is executive director of El Concilio, the organization coordinating the Puerto Rican Day Parade on Sunday, Sept. 28 along the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.
Otero-Cruz says this year's parade will feature some 1,500 participants.
And, after the parade the organization plans two celebration areas where people can go to hear music, enjoy a variety of ethnic foods, and learn about Latin culture.
"Either at Fourth and Lehigh, where they'll have Oro Solido and Brenda K Star or on Front and Lehigh with Coqui Fest with Rep. Angel Cruz and he'll also have different artists," Otero-Cruz said.
