"'Ainadamar' means 'a fountain of tears,' and it's contemporary work. It's about the death of Federico García Lorca," says Opera Philadelphia President and General Director David Devan.

He says this opus gives an inside look at the controversial life and death of Lorca, the famed Spanish playwright.

"Who really now stands as one of Spain's greatest icons, and this work tells about his struggle as an artist against an oppressive regime."

"Ainadamar" will show through February 16th and is scheduled to run for five shows.
