One Dead, One Injured In West Philadelphia Apartment Fire

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A man is dead and another person was injured after flames ripped through an apartment in West Philadelphia.

Flames broke out around 7:30 a.m. Saturday in the 4700 block of Hazel Avenue

Authorities say two people were rushed to the hospital, where one of the victims later died. The other was listed in stable condition.

The fire was placed under control in less than an hour.

The identities of the victims were not immediately released.

Six people were displaced by the blaze.

There was no initial word on what sparked the fire.
