One Dead, One Injured In Southwest Philadelphia Double Shooting

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- A violent scene in Southwest Philadelphia on Sunday as a shooting left a young man dead.

His teenage brother is recovering.

It was just before 2:30 in the afternoon when police say a 14-year-old and his sibling, who was in his 20's, were shot inside a white car near 81st and Lyons Streets.

They drove off, eventually crashing into a utility pole nearby.

"It's a sin and a shame and a disgrace," said Shirlene Moore, who lives nearby. "It is sad. Mortifying, you know."

The 14-year-old was shot in the face. He was taken to Children's Hospital in critical condition.

His brother, struck twice by the gunfire, was pronounced dead at Penn Presbyterian Hospital a short time later
