One Dead, One Injured After Double Shooting In North Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Philadelphia Police announced that two males were shot on the 2100 block of N. Van Pelt Street around 6:25 p.m.

Officials say a 21-year-old was shot once in the neck and was pronounced dead on the scene. Authorities add that a 22-year-old was shot in the left side of the forehead and was listed in critical condition.

Authorities say the 22-year-old is expected to survive.

Police say the 21-year-old was sitting in a Buick that was parked when the shots were fired. One shot went through the windshield and hit the victim in the neck.

Officials say that the second victim was working on the car when he was shot in the forehead. Police say that at least six rounds were fired from a semi-automatic weapon.

Police add that no arrest has been made and no weapon has been recovered. It is not yet clear who the intended target was.
