One Dead, One Critical In Cobbs Creek Shooting

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- One man is dead and another was seriously injured in what police suspect was a drug deal gone bad in West Philadelphia.

It happened around 8 p.m. Saturday along the 5300 block of Angorra Terrace in the city's Cobbs Creek neighborhood.

Authorities say there was a confrontation between two men inside the home which escalated into gunfire.

Police found a 30-year-old man dead inside the doorway of the home. He had been shot at least twice. A second man, 24, was found suffering from several gunshot wounds in the stairwell to the second floor. He was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in critical condition.

The gunman fled the scene, but investigators did recover a gun and some cash that was dropped on the sidewalk.

During a search of the home, police found dozens of marijuana plants.

The identity of the victims have not been released.
