UPDATE: One Dead, Multiple People Injured After Accident Involving NJ Transit Bus

PINE HILL, N.J. (CBS) -- One person is dead following an accident involving a NJ Transit bus in South Jersey Friday morning.

Officials say a GMC Envoy traveling the opposite direction lost control on the icy roadway and collided with the bus, which was traveling the 403 route into Philadelphia, near West Branch Avenue and DeCou Road. Ice on the road appears to have prevented the bus from stopping in time to avoid the collision.

Sixteen passengers on the bus and the driver were transported to Kennedy Hospital in Stratford, where they were treated for minor injuries. A passenger in the SUV was transported to Cooper University Hospital in Camden for undisclosed injuries.

The driver of the GMC, a 29-year-old woman from Lindenwold, was killed in the crash.
