One Dead After Motorcycle Collides With Taxi On Vine Street Expressway
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- One person is dead after a motorcycle slammed into a taxi cab on the Vine Street Expressway in Philadelphia.
The crash happened around 3 a.m. along westbound I-676 at the on ramp for the Schuylkill Expressway (I-76) westbound.
Police say the driver of the motorcycle was thrown from the bike and struck the undercarriage of the disabled taxi on the ramp.
The driver of the bike was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital and pronounced dead.
The victim's name was being withheld pending notification of family.
The driver of the cab and a passenger inside were not injured in the crash.
The cause of the accident in under investigation.
The accident happened just two hours prior to another crash that killed one person on the eastbound Schuylkill Expressway near Passyunk Avenue.
