One Dead After Early Morning Collision

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- One person has died following a car accident early Sunday morning.

The accident occurred around 4:00 a.m. on the 400 block of East Erie Avenue when a 24-year-old woman in a 2004 BMW 325X struck the back of a 2016 Toyota Camry driven by an unidentified man.

The Toyota then lost control, striking a utility pole before coming to a rest on the sidewalk.

The driver of the Toyota was transported to Temple hospital and was pronounced dead around 7:00 a.m.

No other injuries were reported, and no DUI is suspected.

Investigation into the accident is ongoing.
