Officials To Give Update In Family's Apparent Murder-Suicide

READING, Pa. (AP) — The Berks County district attorney's office is expected to release investigative findings into the death of a Pennsylvania family of five.

Police found Mark Short Sr., Megan Short and the married couple's three children -- 8-year-old Lianna, 5-year-old Mark Jr. and 2-year-old Willow -- fatally shot on Aug. 6 in apparent murder-suicide at the family's Sinking Spring home.

Authorities say the couple had been having "domestic issues." They found a handwritten murder-suicide note and a handgun near one of the adults.

Authorities collected forensic evidence and autopsied Mark Short Sr. as part of the investigation, but said they would not discuss the case until Monday.

Neighbors say Megan Short had posted on social media before her death that she planned to leave her husband. A funeral Mass was held Friday.
