Officials Temporarily Close NE Extension To Clear Multiple Accidents

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- There were major traffic delays southbound on the Pennsylvania Turnpike Northeast Extension past Lansdale due to multiple accidents Thursday morning.

LATEST TRAFFIC 

The first accident was an overturned box truck that was leaning over the guard rail, leaking fuel at mile marker 26. The right lane was blocked.

The second accident involved a tractor-trailer and a car. That accident was moved off to the shoulder.

The third involved two tractor-trailers with a minor diesel fuel leak at mile marker 28.

Pennsylvania Turnpike officials closed the Northeast Extension at the Quakertown exit and rerouted all traffic around the affected areas.

There were no life-threatening injuries in any of the accidents.
