Officials: 37-Year-Old Man Killed In Gloucester County Crash

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, N.J. (CBS) -- Officials say one person was killed in a deadly accident in Gloucester County Monday night. Officials say two vehicles collided when a Lexus traveling northbound on Delsea Drive crossed over into the southbound lanes and struck a Land Rover head on in Washington Township just before 8:40 p.m.

The drivers of the vehicle had to be extricated from the wreckage.

The driver of the Lexus, 37-year-old John J. Meyers, was pronounced dead on the scene.

The driver of the Land Rover, 51-year-old Jacquelin Petrongolo, was transported to Cooper University Hospital in Camden and placed in stable condition.

Delsea Drive, between County House Road and Salina Road, was shut down for about three hours following the crash.

An investigation is ongoing.
