Officer Injured After Accidental Discharge In Montgomery County

PLYMOUTH Twp., Pa., (CBS) – Police say an officer was injured after an accidental discharge in Plymouth Township, Montgomery County.

The incident was reported around 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Plymouth Township Police Department on the 700 block of Belvoir Road.

CBS 3 Eyewitness News is told a Conshohocken Borough police detective was inside the station processing a prisoner.

Police say his gun accidentally discharged, shooting him once in the leg.

Officials say the officer was taken to Einstein Medical Center in Montgomery County with non-life threatening injuries.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear.
