Police: Officer Injured In Dirt Bike Chase In North Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Police say a highway patrol officer was injured in a dirt bike chase in North Philadelphia on Saturday night.

Police arrived on the 2000 block of Judson Street in North Philadelphia around 7 p.m., responding to reports of gunshots.

Upon their arrival to the area, several men fled the scene in different directions on dirt bikes.

Police caught one suspect at Front and Gurney Streets. A second of suspect was taken into custody near 3rd Street and Allegheny Avenue. Police say it was during a scuffle with this suspect that the officer suffered non-life-threatening injuries. She was taken to Hahnemann Hospital for treatment.

Authorities also recovered a dirt bike at 5th Street and Erie Avenue.

Police say no officers discharged their weapons during the incident and no weapons were recovered.
