Odunde Festival Returns To South Philly Sunday

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The Odunde Festival -- the nation's largest African American street festival takes place Sunday in South Philadelphia.
Tens of thousands will flock to the Festival for the 39th year in a row.
"Odunde covers 12 city blocks, we have two stages of live entertainment, we have over 100 arts and crafts vendors," says Oshunbumi Fernandez, CEO of Odunde, Inc.
The festival kicked off on Wednesday night with 'My Story' where local professionals told stories of success, networking opportunities and a community Zumba class on Saturday. It all culminates with Sunday's festival that begins at 23rd and South Street in Center City with non-stop entertainment.
"We have African dance troops, kulu mele, Troop Dada, African Heritage dancers out of DC, we have children groups performing like Dee Vidal, We have new artists performing like DeVina and Chris Nelson," explains Fernandez.
The headliner is rapper, Rakim. The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
