Oakland A's Minor Leaguer & Philly Native Sean Murphy Dies At Age 27
OAKLAND, Ca. (CBS) -- The Oakland A's announced on Tuesday that minor league pitcher Sean Murphy has died at the age of 27. The team did not announced what the cause of death was.

Murphy, a Philadelphia native, played six seasons in the A's system after being taken in the 33rd round of the 2010 Draft out of Keystone College in La Plume, Pa.
"The A's are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Sean Murphy," said Vice President of Baseball Operations Billy Beane. "Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends."

Murphy has not pitched since 2014. He received Tommy John surgery.
