Nutter Joins Effort To Get Uninsured To Enroll For Health Plan Under Affordable Care Act

By John McDevitt

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- With less than two weeks left to enroll for affordable heath insurance coverage through the Affordable Care Act, Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter was out in Center City Saturday getting people to sign up.

The effort was called Sign Up Saturday. Volunteers with the Get Covered America campaign were getting uninsured folks to enroll in a plan for affordable coverage.

Among those reminding people about the March 31st deadline was Mayor Michael Nutter.

"I'm finding that people are not only getting signed up, but at some unbelievable affordable rates," Nutter said. $7 a month, $18 a month, $20 a month, depending on what plan you go into. So we want to make sure folks are getting the information they need, getting access to affordable healthcare."
