'Nuclear Power Plant Warning' Sent Out In Error In Parts Of South Jersey

PHILADELPHIA (CBS)—The New Jersey Office of Emergency Management is alerting the public that a "Nuclear Power Plant Warning"  went out in error on Tuesday night.

The message read: "A civil authority has issued a Nuclear Power Plant Warning for the following counties/areas: Cumberland; Salem, NJ."

The NJOEM says the message went out in error.

"The message was not initiated from the County level but from the State of New Jersey," said Cumberland County Public Safety Director and OEM Coordinator Ed Conrow.

Officials are investigating how the incident happened.
