North Wildwood Police To Begin Patrolling The Waterways

NORTH WILDWOOD, N.J., (CBS) -- North Wildwood Police announced on Wednesday that officers will begin patrolling the water off the North Wildwood beach. Those patrols will begin this upcoming weekend.

North Wildwood Police will aim to add to the patrols that are already being done on the waterways by the New Jersey State Police Marine Bureau. Those patrols will continue.

The North Wildwood Fire Department will also assist in the effort. The new effort comes following complaints the city has received stemming from operators of personal watercraft interfering with swimmers.

Anyone operating a personal watercraft is not allowed to operate within 50 feet of the shoreline or anyone in the water.
