Woman Killed In North Philadelphia Double Shooting, Police Say

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Police are investigating a deadly double shooting in North Philadelphia. Gunfire erupted around 4 a.m. Sunday on the 3000 block of Clearfield Street.

A 23-year-old woman who had been shot in the face was found dead lying between two parked cars, while a 36-year-old man was found wounded a short distance away. He had been shot in the neck, chest and shoulder.

The woman died at the scene and the man underwent emergency surgery and remains in critical condition.

"It's unknown how many times the female was hit but the male was hit three times," Chief Thomas Davidson said.

The names of the two victims have not been disclosed.

Authorities say two men were seen driving away from the shooting scene. They remain at large.

An investigation is ongoing.
