NJ Woman Creates GoFundMe To Help Pay For Divorce

CHERRY HILL, NJ (CBS) -- A New Jersey woman has started a GoFundMe account in an attempt to raise money to pay for her divorce.

According to Debbie Becica, "Asking people to help me is not something I am comfortable doing. I especially hate the idea of asking for money. However, I am in a situation that requires desperate measures."

Becica says the divorce is more expensive than she expected and she still needs to pay an attorney.

"The money I already paid was used up, and then some, yet the divorce process has just begun," Becica says.

She says she cannot share the exact details of the divorce and what is making it cost so much.

She concludes, "I am very embarrassed to have created this to begin with. I am a person who wants to stand on her own and I will take the DIY route when possible, but as it turns out, I do need help this time."
