NJ Transit Suspends Portion Of River Line Service After Vehicle Crashes Into Train In Burlington County

DELRAN, NJ (CBS) -- Authorities say a vehicle crashed into a New Jersey Transit train this afternoon in Burlington County, sending several people to the hospital and stopping service on New Jersey Transit's River Line between Cinnaminson and Riverside.

Burlington County officials say the car was on the tracks when it collided with the NJ Transit train just before 4 p.m. near River Road and Cester Avenue in Delran, New Jersey.

The impact left a total of seven people injured. While most of the injuries are believed to be non-life threatening, one person was airlifted from the scene and taken to Cooper Trauma Center for treatment.

The accident is being investigated by Delran Police, the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office, and NJ Transit police
