NJ Teen Organizes Toy Drive In Honor Of Late Brother

SICKLERVILLE, N.J. (CBS) -- Emanuel Alexis passed away 10 years ago, but his older brother, DJ is making sure his memory is never forgotten.

For the past five years, DJ has been delivering hundreds of toys to children at Kennedy Hospital in Washington Township, all in Emanuel's name.

The months-long toy drive pooled the efforts of DJ's friends, schoolmates, family members and area businesses who also helped to wrap the gifts.

On Monday, DJ walked from room to room personally delivering the gifts to the children at Kennedy.

"It's rough being a kid when someone you love is in the hospital so I just want to make sure these kids have a Christmas so all these kids are not forgotten."

DJ not only donated gifts, but has worked with South Jersey schools on creating personalized cards and messages for the patients.
