New Jersey Taxpayers Shell Out Over $15 Million So Far To Foot Bridgegate Legal Bill
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- New Jersey taxpayers continue to foot the bill for the legal response of former Governor Christie in the George Washington Bridge lane closing scandal.
The cost has now surpassed $15 million and the tab is expected to increase as appeals play out.
Two former Christie aides were convicted in 2016 of fraud and other charges for causing traffic jams on the bridge to punish a mayor who wouldn't endorse Christie for re-election.
