NJ Man Transports Daughter's Teen Friend Over State Lines To Engage In Sexual Activity
CAMDEN (CBS)—According to U.S. Attorney General Paul Fishman, a Cape May County man admitted to transporting a teen girl across state lines in order to engage in sexual activity.
Forty-six-year-old Michael Kulick pleaded guilty today.
In statements made in court, Kulick and his family went on a vacation to Lancaster, Pa. in August 2012 and was accompanied by his daughter's friend, a 15-year-old girl. Kulick engaged in sexual contact with the young girl while staying at a hotel.
Kulick admitted that after returning to New Jersey, he continued to have a sexual relationship with the teenage girl for about two months.
He also admitted that at the time that he transported the minor girl to and from Pennsylvania, he was aware that it was illegal to commit statutory rape in both states .
The count to which Kulick pleaded guilty is punishable by a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and restitution for the minor.
He will also be required to serve at least five years of supervised release.
