NJ Man Pleads Guilty To Child Porn Charges

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) — Federal prosecutors say a northern New Jersey man has admitted sharing images of child sexual abuse from his home computer.

Manuel Fernandez faces up to 20 years in prison when he's sentenced Aug. 19. The 33-year-old Wayne man recently pleaded guilty to distributing child porn online.

Fernandez admitted that between March 2011 and January 2012, he was a member of an online peer-to-peer file sharing network. He made child porn images and videos available for other members to download from his computer's "shared" folder.

In March 2011, an undercover law enforcement agent successfully downloaded multiple images and videos from Fernandez's computer. Authorities executed a search warrant at Fernandez's home in January 2012, where they found computer equipment which contained numerous child porn images and videos.
