NJ Company Recalls Dog Bones Over Salmonella Concerns

NEPTUNE, NJ (CBS) – A New Jersey company is recalling one lot of its dog bones due to salmonella concerns.

TFH Publications Inc./Nylabone Products, of Neptune, says the recall applies to its 1.69 oz. packages of Puppy Starter Kit dog chews.

The products were distributed nationwide and are marked Lot #21935, UPC 0-18214-81291-3 and have an expiration date of 3/22/18.

Those bones reportedly have the potential to be contaminated with salmonella.

The company says pets with salmonella can have diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, fever, vomiting and can be lethargic. Some pets also might have abdominal pain and a decreased appetite.

Customers with the product can return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.

No illnesses have been reported so far.
