NJ Assembly Approves Limits on Size of Ammo Clips

TRENTON, N.J. (CBS) -- The New Jersey Assembly today approved, along party lines, a measure that would limit the size of gun ammunition magazines in the state.
The bill, if passed in the state senate and signed by the governor, would lower the current limit of 15 bullets to 10.
Rep. Lou Greenwald (D-Cherry Hill), the Assembly majority leader, was prime sponsor of the measure and insists this bill strikes a delicate balance, "listening to the concerns of some of our colleagues and advocates in an attempt to continue to walk the line between protecting the Second Amendment and stopping the horrific tragedies that affected the families of Sandy Hook."
Twenty-six people in Connecticut, most of them kids, were gunned down there a year and a half ago, and a few parents were on hand today as the vote came down.
The state senate has already approved the measure that toughens what is already the second-strictest gun control law in the nation.
Governor Chris Christie has not indicated whether or not he will approve the bill.
