Nice Weather, Family Fun Makes For Perfect Combo At Spruce Street Harbor

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - While some people are dipping their toes into the ocean down the shore, others are relaxing by the Delaware River this Memorial Day weekend.

Philadelphia's Spruce Street Harbor Park opened this weekend.

It's not the beach, but Sunday was a beautiful evening to sit under the sunset and dig your feet into... the sandbox. That's what sisters Layla and India were doing:

"We're burying our feet, we are making our castle."

And Franklin Fountain served frozen treats, like hot fudge sundaes. Three-year-old Cyrus went in a different direction:

"Banana!"

Over at the Arcade, Josh and his dad, Kenyatta, came from Delaware County to test their air hockey skills:

"It was a good game," Kenyatta said. "(Josh) played very well. He beat everybody, and I had to beat him."
