NFL Adds Veteran Free Agent Combine

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The NFL Combine is not just for the youngsters anymore. On Thursday, all NFL teams were informed of the league's decision to add a veteran combine for NFL Free agents. The combine will take place on March 22nd which is the first day of the NFL Owners Meetings.

Both events will take place in Arizona with the combine being held at the Cardinals' facility.

The veteran combine will include somewhere around 100 players invited by the NFL to participate. Free agency begins on March 10th. The combine will exist for lesser profile players that may not find a team to sign with early in the free agent process.

This veteran combine will also help players that are early on in their NFL career that may have been in an NFL Training Camp as a rookie, but could use another chance to get in front of executives from all the teams.

There is no age restriction for this group of free agents that will participate beyond not being a rookie. It will be interesting to see the talent level and the age range of this group of players.
