New Sanitation Convenience Center Opens In Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- As Philadelphia continues to fight against litter and illegal dumping, another sanitation convenience center opens in Port Richmond.

Joe Riecky of South Philadelphia is redecorating his home and unloaded old items like blinds and blue shag carpeting into dumpsters at the Port Richmond sanitation convenience recycling center in the 3100 block of N. Delaware Avenue.

"Well they only take so much off the curb. I mean they limit you how much and its all bulk stuff so I tie it up and bring it here it's easier. It's not blowing down the street especially on a windy day like today."

 

 

Things like household trash, appliances, tires and e-waste can be dropped off Monday through Saturday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
