New Poll Shows Dissatisfaction Among Those Impacted By Superstorm Sandy

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J., (CBS) -- A new poll of New Jersey residents hardest hit by Superstorm Sandy suggests there is still a lot of dissatisfaction with how the state has handled things in the 3 years since the storm struck the coast

The Monmouth University Poll has kept track of residential sentiment as each anniversary approaches. This year's overall numbers haven't changed much.

"We find just four in ten, 39% of hard hit residents say they're very or somewhat satisfied with New Jersey's recovery effort," pollster Tim Tracey told KYW Newsradio, "while six in ten or 61% say they are dissatisfied."

And almost two thirds believe they have been forgotten by their government. That said, state efforts do seem to be getting greater recognition, with about half saying officials have been helpful. That's up from 40% two years ago. And satisfaction numbers are up with those who are back in their homes, as opposed to those still waiting.
