New Partnership Aims To Provide Convenient, Low Cost Pet Services

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Convenient, low-cost pet services is the goal of a new partnership between the Pennsylvania SPCA and Monster Pets. The stores will serve as satellite locations for animal adoptions and vet services.

Creating greater access to adoptable pets and vet care is something the PSPCA has been working on. CEO Jerry Buckley says the Animal Care Network is all about convenience.

"We want to be in more places to reach more pet owners, more dogs and cats, to make them healthier. To save their lives," said Buckley.

Monster Pets General Manager Chris Fishuk says anyone who wants to adopt a cat can do so right in the store.

"They've been flying out the door. We've been able to find them homes within a day or two of getting them. We get calls every day," said Fishuk.

Affordable vet services like spaying/neutering, nail clippings and vaccinations are available at the three Monster Pet locations.
