New Jersey Primary Election Voting Registration Deadline Nears

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- You can still register to vote in the upcoming New Jersey primary, but you have to do so by the end of Tuesday.

If you want to cast a ballot in the June 7 presidential primary in the Garden State, you must be signed up. Midnight is the deadline for registering.

"This is just a voter's registration deadline," says Jesse Burns, executive director of the League of Women Voters in New Jersey. "So, if you're not registered or you need to change your address or change your name, things like that.....party affiliation deadline is for already registered voters wishing to change their affiliation."

And that deadline was the middle of April, so now you can no longer switch your party affiliation before the primary.

You can download the form to register to vote with the league, the New Jersey Division of Elections or in person at the town hall or county office building. Many will be open until 9 p.m.
