New Jersey Man Attacked By Coyote, Animal Euthanized

SADDLE RIVER, N.J. (AP) -- Authorities euthanized a coyote after it attacked a New Jersey man.

Saddle River police say the man was working in his yard when the animal attacked him from behind on Monday.

The man was taken to a hospital for treatment. His name was not released.

Police say the coyote had attacked a neighbor's dog last week and the dog needed treatment by a veterinarian.

Police and state wildlife officials found the coyote in the woods, where it was euthanized.

The coyote was taken to the state's Fish and Wildlife Division for testing.
