New Jersey Man Accused In Severe Beating Of Infant Girl

LAKEWOOD, N.J. (AP) — Aggravated assault charges have been filed against a southern New Jersey man accused of severely beating an infant last month.

Ocean County prosecutors say 22-year-old Lakewood resident Lakim Cohen is also charged with child endangerment. He was arrested Monday and remained jailed Tuesday on $150,000 cash bail.

Prosecutors say the 4-month-old girl was admitted to a hospital on Nov. 16 with a depressed skull fracture and three broken bones in her right arm. An investigation determined that the injuries were caused by blunt force trauma consistent with child abuse.

It wasn't known Tuesday if Cohen has retained a lawyer.
