TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — State health officials have confirmed the fourth death of a New Jersey child associated with the flu this season. The death was announced Tuesday.

Health Commissioner Shereef Elnahal says a toddler from northern New Jersey died in a hospital in early March and had several underlying medical conditions.

The child's name was not disclosed.

The child's death comes just weeks after state health officials announced the flu-related deaths of an infant and another toddler from northern Jersey. Another child from central Jersey died in late December.

Elnahal says officials are still seeing high flu activity across the state and reminded residents that it's not too late to get a flu shot.
