New Castle County K9 Finds Missing 11-Year-Old

NEW CASTLE COUNTY, DE. (CBS) – A police K9 helped find an 11-year-old who went missing from his home in Midvale this weekend.

New Castle County police were called to a house on the unit block of Highland Boulevard in the Sophia's Place West community Sunday afternoon for reports of a missing 11-year-old boy. According to police, the boy's mom told the arriving officers her son ran away from the residence on foot after an argument.

K9 officer Ax got a scent of the boy at the house and tracked it, along with his partner Senior Cpl. C. Carter, until the boy was found a half-mile away in good health.

The officers then reunited the boy with his family.
