New App From Facebook Alerts Users To Breaking News

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Facebook is launching a new app that alerts users to breaking news.

It's called "Notify."

It works by having users sign up for notifications from individual news outlets, like CBS, CNN, The Washington Post, without having to install other apps.

The notification will then direct users back to the sites of the participating publishers.
