Nerlens Noel Upset With Michael Carter-Williams?

By Andrew Porter

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- Long-time friends Nerlens Noel and Michael Carter-Williams seem to be feuding after the Sixers' 111-76 blowout loss to the Wizards Monday afternoon.

"We have to be able to reward our big guys," Noel said of the guards, according to Sixers reporter Bob Cooney. "We have to move the ball. It was stagnant again. Sustaining energy for that long isn't an easy thing, especially when you're not getting any big guys the ball."

Noel was seemingly taking a swipe at Carter-Williams, the Sixers' second-yard point-guard, who had just seven points (2-13 FG), five assists, and four turnovers in the loss.

"They are an unselfish team," Noel said of the Wizards, according to Cooney. "They care about each other more than they do themselves."

As for Washington's point-guard, John Wall?

"He makes that team go," Noel said. "He's a point guard that really keeps his players involved and everybody's happy."

Noel and Carter-Williams have been friends for a long-time, dating back to their high-school days as AAU teammates in Massachusetts. While their relationship may seem rocky, this could simply be an emotional Noel speaking rashly after a bad loss.
