Nazareth Township Mayor Turns Himself In On Theft Charges

LOWER NAZARETH TOWNSHIP, Pa (CBS) -- The Mayor of Nazareth Township in Northampton County has turned himself into authorities.

Carl Strye Jr. is currently facing theft related charges. He is being accused of stealing money from a local volunteer fire company, called the Vigilant Hose Company.

Strye is the former president of the company he is accused of stealing from. Members say he has been stealing money from the department's social club over the course of four years.

Despite the charges against him, Strye will reportedly not step down as Mayor.

He is expected to appear in court next month.
