Navy SEAL Ryan Peters In Studio With Angelo Cataldi And The 94WIP Morning Show

By Andrew Porter

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) --- Angelo Cataldi and the 94WIP Morning Show has become one of the most popular radio programs in the country, primarily bantering about the Philadelphia sports scene. Sometimes, however, sports can become trivial.

When U.S. Navy SEAL Ryan Peters walked into the studio on Tuesday morning, it was one of those times.

Mr. Peters served in the U.S. military as a Navy SEAL with multiple combat deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan. Mr. Peters---now an associate with Pepper Hamilton LLP, resident in the Philadelphia office---is currently a Lieutenant Commander in the Naval Reserve, assigned to SEAL Team Eighteen.

"The craziest part for me was hell week," Peters said, recalling his experience. "So it's one week, you go to the compound you sleep in the tents. They wake you up with machine gun fire and fireworks, screaming and yelling, I believe that was Sunday night. And then you run around until the following Saturday without sleeping."

"At all?" Cataldi asked.

"Well you can get a thirty minute nap on Wednesday if you win a couple races," Peters said.

Mr. Peters and Liberty USO President Joe Brooks were promoting #HugAHero where you can donate to the active military and their families, simply by giving Mr. Peters a hug or kiss, a hug being $5 and a kiss $10.
