Natural Gas Leak Caused By Car Crash In Mayfair; Several Buildings Evacuated

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - A car crash in Philadelphia's Mayfair section caused a natural gas leak on Monday. Police say a vehicle hit a pole that struck a gas line on Cottman and Frankford Avenues, just before 11 a.m.

CBS3 is told authorities have shut the gas off and have the situation under control.

Some buildings, including a daycare center, were evacuated as a precaution.

There's no word on injuries in the crash.
