Nationals Suspend Jonathan Papelbon For Remainder Of Season

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- The Washington Nationals suspended Jonathan Papelbon for four games for his altercation on Sunday with Bryce Harper, the team announced on Monday.

Papelbon accepted his three-game suspension from Major League Baseball for throwing at Orioles shortstop Manny Machado on September 23rd. The league suspension will begin on Monday, while the Nationals suspension will begin on Thursday and last the remainder of the season.

"The behavior exhibited by Papelbon yesterday is not acceptable," Nationals President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Mike Rizzo said in a statement.
